D returned to the office today after working from home the last few days. D called on his way to work, like he always does. As we were talking, he hit some black ice. He rolled his truck completely over. He put some nasty dents in the truck, but luckily he received no nasty dents. He is a very blessed man. He was able to drive the truck home. I was so glad when he pulled in the drive tonight. My nerves were raw all day after that start. So, we recycled some crayons. There are a number of ways to do this. This is how I do it:
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees. Remove all the paper from the crayons and break them into small pieces. I purchased a candy/cake mold from Avon just for this activity. You may also use a muffin pan.
Spray the pan with cooking spray. Add the crayons.
Put them in the oven. Set the timer for 10-15 minutes. If after that time they are not melted, give them a little longer and recheck. When they are melted, take them out of the oven and cool.
I leave them for over an hour. Remove from pan. Now we have fun new crayons.
The girls had fun playing in their rice box. I did this awhile ago to occupy the girls, while I clean the kitchen. I took a plastic container and filled it with a big bag of rice. I put a set of measure cups in it. When the girls want to play, I give them each a cookie sheet. They have a ball.
Oh, and we got more snow today. I think I can officially say I am done with winter. I wish the forecast agreed.
