Bank of America stinks…

Bank of America stinks…

I have mentioned on here before that D and I are trying very hard to get out of debt. We are almost there–one more to go. Go Team! We have been working on our debt for some time now. The last card I had to pay off was Bank of America. I had always been pleased with them in the past, so I was not in too much of a hurry to get them paid off. When we got to the point when they were the last card I was working on, that is when they starting messing with me. When paying my bill one month, I noticed that they raised my interest rate by more than 10%. No warning just raised it. So, I called and spoke with a representative. I was able to keep my original rate if I did not use the card. Fine with me. But, I asked why they did this. I was told it was because I was a risk. That really bothered me. I explained to the lady that my bills were always paid on time and they were my only credit card with a balance. She explained that my credit report showed that, but the credit report companies still consider me a risk. I was so upset and I let the lady know it.
So number one thing they did…raised interest rate. But, that was not it. The next month when paying my bill I noticed they had cut my credit line in half. Once again . . . no notice. Luckily, I did not owe more than the amount they cut it to. Once again, they were trying to get me. Well we worked hard and got that credit card paid off–so much for being a risk.
So number two thing they did . . . cut credit line in half. But, once again that was not all. This month when checking my account they had charged me a minimum charge of $1.50. Fine, I will pay it I am going to close that account anyway. But what I noticed it that they were once again trying to get me. I have had that card for 6-7 years. During that time, my payments were always due around the 20th of the month. This month it is due on the 12th. They were trying to get me with a late payment fee and a reason to raise my interest rate.
So number three thing they did . . . moved my payment due day up more than a week.
Luckily, I pay attention. They are trying their hardest to get people. I am not happy with the way I have been treated and will never do business with Bank of America again. I want to deal with a company that will not try to do harm to the cardholders, especially the ones that are trying to do what is right.
