Best day of my life . . .

Best day of my life . . .

Mr. and Mrs.
Mr. and Mrs.

At sunrise four years ago today, D and I became husband and wife. It was a small, but beautiful service. The setting could not have been more perfect. We had the music of the birds starting their day, while the bullfrogs sang backup. Our wonderful family and a couple very close friends came even at 5:30 in the morning. I can’t even remember anyone giving us too much grief about the time of our wedding. It was almost as if they expected something like that from us. I was so nervous when I arrived at the river. But, once I got a glimpse of D the nerves melted away, because I knew it was right. The vows were perfect and in less than 15 minutes it was done. D’s sister and her family made a perfect campsite breakfast. Instead of wedding cake, we had pancakes. It was . . . perfect.
It is so hard to believe that we have already been married four years. In a way, it feels like it was just yesterday. It still seems new and exciting. But, in another way, it feels like D has been a part of my life forever. I have tried time and time again to write this blog and explain what D means to me and how much I love him, but I just can’t put what my heart is feeling into words. I do know that I will spend the rest of my life showing D what my words cannot express.
