Remember the excitement and magic you felt as a little kid during Christmas. I always have that excitement return as we prepare for the holiday, but I lost the magic years ago. This year was especially wonderful as the magic returned for me through the magic my daughters felt. Mae is at the perfect age. She understood that we were celebrating Jesus’s birthday. She also understood Santa. It was so fun watching her prepare for Santa. After putting the reindeer food on the lawn on Christmas Eve, she kept running to the window looking for Santa. The sadness she felt when she had to call Santa about bad things she had done broke my heart, as well as her own. When Daddy put her to bed on Christmas Eve, she insisted on picking up her toys, so Santa would not trip. The excitement she shared when she saw her scooter for the very first time was so special. It was a wonderful Christmas. I hope your holiday was filled with love, laughter, family, friends, and of course, magic.
