Great time. . .

Great time. . .

Last night we had an impromptu 4th of  July party.  It was such a good time.  We had the kids running back and forth from the pool to the swing set.  The adults sat and visited.  We were able to see a few fireworks, but the trees behind the house have grown up enough that it is getting difficult to enjoy.  I told D to get the chain saw out and go get us a view, but since they are not our trees he was reluctant.  It was a nice time.

Not afraid.
Not afraid.

We have been busy since the last time I blogged.  D is now gall bladder-less.  The sugery went well.  He is still sore, but is making it.

We had a leak in the water line running from the street to the house.  My father in law helped D find the problem and gave us the name of a guy to call to get it fixed.  He came over and looked at it, told us what to do to fix it and gave us an estimate.   When we came home from the hospital, the water line was fixed, bill on the door.  It was so nice to have that taken care of when we got home.

Lou is growing up so fast.  We have her two month check up tomorrow.  She now smiles at us, and “talks” to us.  She is too cute.  We still have days when she can’t hold any milk and it ends up on me.  Sleeping is a night be night thing.  Some nights she will sleep 5 hours straight and other nights she will be up every 2 hours.  It just depends, but she has yet to sleep longer than 5 hours straight for us.  D is a big help with her.  He will do a night changing/feeding for me just about every night.  That really does help.

Mae is going through a little rebelious stage.   I am really having to pray for a lot of patience with her at the moment.  I have crayon marks everwhere.  She spends a lot of time in timeout for that.  The other day she was in timeout and I heard her say “mommy, I sorry I put orange on window.”  I asked her if she was going to do it again.  She replied “yeah!”  Some of the things she is doing, I am having trouble being firm and not laughing.  The other night she wanted more applesauce with dinner.  I told her she needed to eat a bite of broccoli first.  She chewed it, said “mmmmm, good” so I put the more applesauce on her plate.  As soon as I did, she spit out the broccoli.  I was so mad, but I had to give her credit for being so smart.   She taught me a lesson.  She is also becoming a budding photographer.  She will walk around with my camara taking pictures like she is an artist.  I love it.

I finally got an appointment to see the endocrinolgist.  I am scheduled for the 29th of July.  It is a long time to wait, but from what I hear I am lucky I am not waiting 3-4 months to see this doctor.  I know this sounds just silly, but I have a huge fear about this being a thyroid problem that I will need to take medication for that will cause me to gain a bunch of weight.   I know of all things to be worried about with this.  I am not a skinny girl…never have been, but I am comfortable with where I am.  It took me  a long time and a lot of throwing up  to realize I am who I am even if I have extra padding.  I just don’t want to add  more padding to what I already have.

Better run.  Happy July to everyone. . .
