Happy, happy…

Happy, happy…

Today was D’s birthday. I tried to make it special for him. I don’t know how special it was for him, but I enjoyed it. I like doing nice things for him, but never seem to have the opportunity. We get so caught up in work and life that we seem to forget about making each other feel special. His birthday gives me the chance to make up for it. When he came home, he found a house with banners and balloons waiting for him. It was fun.   Mae and I also drew pictures for him. We also worked on the Happy Birthday song.  Mae spent most of the afternoon singing “happy, happy, happy, happy.” So fun.
I had trouble finding something to give him, but finally decided on fishing items. I got a bucket and filled it with fishing items, including a little kid Transformers fishing pole. Poor guy was so excited about it that he broke it trying to put it together. So, after dinner we made a trip to Walmart to buy him another one. This time he went with a Cars fishing pole.
Then we came back and enjoyed a little brownies and ice cream. D is not a big cake fan, so I made him his favorite–brownies. It was a good evening, starting a little later than planned, but still nice.
Happy birthday, D. I love you so much. You are a wonderful man and a saint for putting up with me.
