Happy Halloween! Today was a great day. Our Red Ribbon Week activity for the day was Scare Away Drugs. The kids were asked to dress like a scarecrow or other characters from Wizard of Oz. It was fun seeing the different outfits. I dressed as a scarecrow and spent my morning getting together my costume. Needless to say, I was a little late leaving for work. I had one student that had a neat tin man outfit. Mom had spray painted the foam that the costume was made of. As the morning went on, the room was filled of fumes. I finally had to call the nurse over to check out the odor. She had the student change. I felt sorry for the kid, the outfit was cute, but STINKY!
The kids were wired, but that was alright. We stuck with fun activities for the day. We had our “fall party” and out Red Ribbon Week assembly. Sweetpea came to school to see the kids with Grandma. After school, we came home a relaxed. Then when D got done with work we went Trick or Treating. Since it was a classic fall evening, rainy and cold, we just went to family members’ houses. It was fun. I had the most perfect butterfly to spend the evening with. We try really hard to keep Sweetpea from eating a lot of candy. Needless to say, she was a little wired on sugar by the end of the night. She was running all over the house and laughing. We got a kick out of it. Luckily she crashed and slept the whole night. What a joy!
