It is was so nice to get out of the house yesterday. It was the first time I went anywhere since work last Monday. We were able to go out to my dad’s house and visit. We also made a trip to the grocery store to stock up on food for another storm system that is supposed to be moving in, and Super Bowl Sunday. I don’t know what it is about football, but it makes me want to eat junk. When I was a kid, we would have Junk Food Sundays during football season. Looking back Mom really just heated up leftovers from the week and added a few things like chips and dips. Well, I refrain from doing it every Sunday, but when it comes to the Super Bowl I love the junk food. Our menu includes:
Baked Potatoes with all the extras. Easiest thing ever since I make the potatoes in the slow cooker.
Buffalo Grilled Chicken Tenders. I am trying Betty Crocker’s recipe today.
Little Smokies. This one is for the kids.
We, of course, have all the snacks, too–crackers, summer sausage, cheese, bellybuttons, chips and dip.
For dessert, we have:
Rice Krispie Treats with Chocolate.
And, a new recipe–Peanut Butter & Chocolate Popcorn. Yummy. The recipe can be found at Brown Paper Packages.
